Yesterday morning looked and felt like a cold morning, which was why I took these pictures of frost on the grass and frost on my car. But today’s was all the drama.
I say, do you think the cold affects alarm clocks? Ours didn’t ring this morning.
I, who normally wakes at 6:00 A.M. woke quite by chance at 8:30 A.M. Lydia was to have been at school at 7:30 A.M. to practice for a performance in assembly at 8:30 A.M. She was also to have taken with her a choir uniform for a friend who was to wear it and leave at 9:00 A.M. for an inter-school music meet.
(Once long ago in a slightly worse situation, I considered running away from my family and friends to start life anew far away. Somehow having stayed to face the situation, I realised that things have a way of becoming less intense with time.)
Speaking of the cold, apparently, this morning, temperatures dropped to minus three degrees centigrade, which is unusual for Auckland. Auckland, Hamilton below zero this morning reads the title of a piece in the NZ Herald. Our minimum temperatures will be rising, we are told, and our maximum temperatures will drop.
Must remember to watch for more cold behaviour from our alarm clock.
